Joel Ostlind (American, b. 1954)

Raised on the range, Wyoming artist Joel Ostlind spent decades herding cattle on horseback before translating his field sketches into fine copper plate etchings. Known for his expressive draftsmanship, often compared to Rembrandt’s masterly linework, Ostlind captures the authentic spirit of the modern West, from quiet mountain descents on telemark skis to expansive Wyoming pastures.
